Poker Star Fedor Holz Invests In Team EnVy And Dallas Fuel
EnVy Gaming has a new minority owner, and it is none other than professional poker player Fedor Holz. The 24-year-old invested in the organization that is the parent company of Team EnVy and Dallas Fuel in the summer of this year.
The team are involved in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty, League of Legends, Halo, Rocket League and Overwatch, with numerous championships to their name over the years that even bookies like William Hill e-sports odds pick them as one of the best teams to bet on. However, specific details on the Holz deal were not divulged.
For those who are unfamiliar with Holz, he is currently the highest-earning German poker player of all time. He has earned nearly $27 million in live tournaments alone, and he shows no signs of slowing down. He was introduced to EnVy’s CEO Mike Rufail via former Team EnVyUs’ CS:GO player Nathan “NBK” Schmitt, who is a close friend of his. He was even wearing a Team EnVyUs jersey back in July 2017 during the Big One for One Drop poker tournament, which he won and took home $5 million from.
Holz has been more focused on investing lately than he has on poker, saying “I like to invest in things that I’m emotionally connected to it because I feel that I contribute the most but I also get the most out of it. I like EnVy, I like to watch, I like the way they build their infrastructure and team, take care of their players. And it was just a corporation I wanted to be a part of in some way.”
With Holz onboard with EnVy Gaming, it looks like they will continue to one of the biggest Esports companies around.
