Transistor pre-orders and soundtrack now available

Supergiant Games’ new game Transistor is finally available for pre-order. Not only is the game available to pre-purchase through their website or through Steam, but you can also purchase the soundtrack. While some gamers might pass over the idea of purchasing just a soundtrack for the game, this isn’t something to scoff at as SuperGiant’s previous game – Bastion – had one of the most memorable soundtracks, its own release coming in answer to massive public request.

The game is also coming out on the PlayStation 4 and is available for pre-order on the PSN or, again, via the game’s website. As it stands prices range from 15 U.S. Dollars to 20 U.S. Dollars depending on your region. The Soundtrack itself can be purchased digitally or on a disk, with the price being at around 15 Dollars.

As mentioned earlier, Supergiant is known for only one other game, the massive critical and public success known as Bastion. The developers even stated in the past that they never planned on making more than one game, but Bastion assured them a future and they don’t plan on disappointing their fans, now that they are fully dedicated to the gaming industry.

Bastion stood out in 2011 as an isometric action-role playing game where the story and the majority of the player’s actions are dynamically voiced over by a narrator. Despite initial fears that this narrator would become repetitive, Bastion surprised critics and gamers alike by offering a new way to present a story. It’s colorful art style also did nothing but good for the game’s reputation as the constantly generating world kept the player with mesmerized with beautiful surroundings.

Transistor however is a leap for Supergiant as they have clearly stated that they did not want to make another Bastion.  While the art style is somewhat reminiscent of the previous title, and some of the voiceover work reminds gamers or the 2011 hit, that’s where the similarities stop. Transistor  combines free movement in real time with a planning mode, which compared to Bastion’s simple real time combat, offers little similarities. As of today, the system requirements  are as follows:
