Titanfall DLC on Xbox 360 launches in June
Titanfall was a great success for EA and Respawn, having received great reviews on Xbox One and PC at launch. It’s hard to notice at times, but there is a third version of the game out since April, that nobody seems to know about. I’m talking of course about the Xbox 360 version, which came out a few weeks later, and received no marketing push. It is pretty clear that this is the stepson of the Titanfall family, and it gets punished yet again with DLC releasing late for it.
The Expedition Map Pack, is scheduled for launch on Xbox One and PC this month. The announcement of the actual date is coming later today via the official Titanfall Twitch channel, but we already know that the Xbox 360 version will not launch simultaneously. Respawn confirmed that the first DLC on the Xbox 360 will be coming to Xbox Live next month, probably a few week after it hits the more powerful platforms, just as with the launch of the game.
It is confirmed yet again that the Bluepoint studio is also handling the port of the DLC (as was the case with the whole game on Xbox 360), so we know what to expect in terms of quality. It seems that this team is behind the last-gen Titanfall for the long haul, and the reason for the delay was again stated on the game’s official site:
“This timing difference is due to the same reasons that more time was needed to finish Titanfall for the Xbox 360. Respawn must first finish their additions and improvements for the Xbox One and PC, and afterwards Bluepoint can then grab the latest and update the Xbox 360 version. We’re working with Respawn and Bluepoint to streamline the process and close the gap, allowing Xbox 360 updates to be published as closely as possible to Respawn’s updates”.
Right now Bluepoint is struggling to bring over to its version of the game the features added with the second Content Update, which adds Private Matches to the mix. In order to shorten wait times for the fans, Bluepoint decided to launch what was included in this patch on the Xbox One in two waves, with the first one already out for Xbox 360 fans.
Which version of Titanfall are you playing? And if you chose the Xbox 360 one, are you bothered by the late updates? Let us know in the comments section.
