iPhone 6 will be bigger according to leaked images

A flow of rumors surfaced on the internet about the long-expected iPhone 6. A little while ago a bunch of leaked images showing the next smartphone sensation delighted all Apple fans. The leaked images unveiled a larger device and a change in the position of the power button from the top of the phone to the side. One of the images showed a CAD drawing of the phone, with a sensor-like label. It’s not clear what it could be, but we can guess it’s a pulse reader, a fair assumption considering the iPhone 6 is rumored to be geared for fitness.

It seems Apple wants to be well prepared to enter the big-screened phones’ competition, so the iPhone 6 has a height of 5.4 inches, a width of 2.6 inches and a screen diagonal of 4.7 or 4.8 inches (rumored), while the current iPhones measure 4.87 inches, 2.3 inches and 4 inches, respectively. The images also show rounded corners, rounded LED, but less rounded volume buttons. The device seems to be no more than 7mm thick, this would be quite nice, if only at this thickness, the current camera won’t stand out from the back of the phone. Of course, Apple may have noticed this before we did and use a different, smaller camera module. Hopefully they won’t make the smartphone thicker in order to fit the camera.

There is also a rumor suggesting Apple will introduce a phablet-sized iPhone 6 along with the original iPhone 6, a 5.5-inch phablet to be exact. We might have an iPod-like iPhone that could probably turn out to be the next generation of iPod Touch, rumors also suggest slight similarities to the iPod Nano and iPhone 5C.

The smartphone seems to have a metal body, but it took some design features from the 5C, like the curved edges and both the placement of the speaker and the microphone, now in the bottom of the device. It will also be available in multiple color tones, as it appeared in the images, the same colors of the iPhone 5C. The similarities end here, because the 5C is made of plastic, so the metal case would be the right move if Apple wants to make a high-end smartphone. And as other already on the market smartphones have aluminum bodies, why not the iPhone 6? Apple took into consideration its competition, and thus, chose to follow the construction patterns of the iPod Nano, namely a well-build device with aluminum body that also comes in different colors.

Knowing only small details about its appearance is not at all satisfying considering the iPhone 6 is one of the most expected devices of 2014. But the good news/rumors about the upgrades Apple will make on its next smartphone are blessed breathes of fresh air. Fortunately it’s only a matter of time until we know exactly what lies beneath the aluminum well-build body Apple might chose for its smartphone sensation.
