Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will come in two variants according to a new report

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is arguably one of the most anticipated devices of the year. Most sources claim the phablet will be launched around September 3rd, which is just a couple of days before the IFA Trade Show in Berlin kicks off. This release date seems plausible, albeit somewhat strange given that its predecessor was announced during the show. One the other hand, there are bound to be many announcements at the event so maybe Samsung is planing the unveiling beforehand in order to avoid the competition. At any rate, while we don’t know the release date for certain, we do know that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be a top-tier device.

The phablet will undoubtedly come with an impressive set of specs and some great feature to boot. According to The Korea Times, it will also come in two variants. The report says that one of the versions is being developed for mass marketing and will sport a flat OLED display. The other Galaxy Note 4 model is aimed at niche markets and will feature a curved OLED display. This information comes directly from a Samsung executive so it’s not just speculation. We have heard plenty of rumors about a Youm curved three-sided display, but most people seem to think this is unlikely. The reaction is understandable given that the technology is pretty innovative, but on the other hand we’re talking about Samsung here.

This new information seems to offer some credence to the rumors, however we can’t say for certain until the company actually confirms it. The interesting fact is that they are releasing two Samsung Galaxy Note 4 devices. This is a wise move as it will please both users to want a more traditional display and those who are looking for something special. We’ve heard rumors that the iPhone 6 will also feature two variants so maybe this will become a trend in the near future. In regards to the phablet’s specs, we can expect something along the lines of a 5.7-inch display running at 2560 x 1440 resolution with 515 ppi. The device is also said to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3 GB RAM, 16 MP ISOCELL camera with OIS, and will most likely run on the Android 4.4.3 KitKat OS.

In related news, The Korea Times report also mentions some of the other Samsung products we can expect to see at the IFA Trade Show. “Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note4 phablet, UHD OLED TVs, a Google Glass rival, and home appliances at the upcoming IFA,” the Samsung executive said. We first heard about Samsung’s Google Glass competitor last month. The electronic glasses will reportedly go by the name of Gear Glass and will feature an ear piece and a display. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we learn any other details so stay tuned.
