Batman Arkham Knight coming to the Xbox One in February

According to the Microsoft Store, Batman Arkham Knight will arrive for the Xbox One on February 24th, 2015. Rocksteady Studios’ upcoming title was initially supposed to be released on October 14th, but was delayed until next year. The company didn’t officially announce a release date for the game so it’s a little strange that Microsoft has given it one. Even more strange is the fact that this date contradicts a statement made by a very reliable source. Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman in the game said earlier this month that Arkham Knight is scheduled to come out sometime during January.

“I have a massive game you may have heard of called Arkham Knight,” the voice actor said. “It was supposed to come out in January, we’ve been working on it for a year and a half, it’s still not done. So it’s going to come out next January, but I know everyone is frustrated.” He also jokingly added that “The reason it’s been delayed is because it’s so awesome.” We’re not sure what to make of the two contradicting release dates so we’ll just have to wait until Rocksteady Studios makes an official announcement.

Batman Arkham Knight introduces us to a brand new villain created by the developers specifically for this game. The images we’ve seen so far depict the Arkham Knight as being a militarized version of Batman. We don’t know any details regarding his identity or motives so all we can do is speculate for now. Aside from him, the game also features a line-up of already famous bad guys such as Scarecrow, Two-Face, Penguin, Harley Quinn, and the Riddler. Pre-ordering Batman Arkham Knight will grant you an add-on that allows you to play as Harley Quinn. “Become Harley Quinn for the first time ever in an Arkham game and utilize her unique weapons, gadgets, and abilities first-hand. The add-on includes four exclusive challenge maps.”

Additionally, if you pre-order for the PS4 you will gain access to the Scarecrow Nightmare Missions. The Microsoft Store says that if you pre-order for the Xbox One you will receive a $10 Xbox gift card digital code. There is no news yet if whether or not pre-ordering the PC version of Batman Arkham Knight will also come with something special. We now have two sources that say we can expect the game to be released early next year but we’ll try to find out for certain if it’s scheduled for January or February. We’ll keep you posted so stay tuned for more news and updates.
