Kojima released two teasers for “Silent Hills”
Following Hideo Kojima’s announcement that he has teamed up with Guillermo del Toro in order to make a new “Silent Hill” game, a playable teaser has been released exclusively for the Playstation 4. According to the developers, “Silent Hills”, as the game is named, will be powered by the Fox Engine.
In order to promote the new Silent Hill game, Kojima Productions posted two new videos on YouTube, containing footage of Japanese girls playing the demo in a dark room and their reactions. Judging by how terrified the girls in the videos are and by the sound effects and the few frames from the game that were shown there, it seems like Kojima is a man of his word. When he announced the game, the Japanese developer promised that Silent Hill S will be the scariest game ever and, to quote the man himself, “players will s*** in their pants”. The two teasers can be watched below.
Fans of the Silent Hill franchise have asked Kojima on Twitter about the release of the new game on other platforms than Playstation 4. The developer, however, only offered an evasive answer, taking note that there are a lot of people who want to play the game but don’t have a PS 4 console. Bottom line, what we know so far about this game is that it will definitely be released on the Playstation 4 console, with no news regarding any other platforms. Also, the developer has not announced when the game will be released yet.
The big question is whether “Silent Hills” will be able to revive a franchise that has been going downhill in the last few years. That remains to be seen, but from what the playable teaser shows us, the game seems like it has potential and, at least from a horror fan perspective, is scary enough to fulfill Kojima’s desire.
