LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham gets a release date

The next entry in the LEGO Batman series, called “Beyond Gotham” will be released in November 14 in the United Kingdom. The North American release date was not announced yet, but it’s likely it will be on a date close to the UK release.

The game will be developed by Traveller’s Tales, the Time Warner owned company who had worked on the previous “LEGO Batman” titles, as well as on other known LEGO licensed titles. Beyond Gotham will be released for the PlayStation 3 and 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, WiiU, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, Windows PC, Mac OS X and iOS. The Mac version of the game is developed by Feral Interactive.

According to Warner Bros, the plot of the game takes players in space. Batman and the Justice League must stop Brainiac from taking over the universe. The villain is trying to do that by using the powers of the Rings of all Lantern Corps to shrink planets and cities. Beyond Gotham will feature over 150 characters from the DC Universe, including other heroes and villains from the Batman Universe, such as the Joker, Killer Croc, Bane, Batgirl, Robin and many others. The publishers assures players that, despite the large number of heroes, Batman will still be the main character of the game.

The voice cast for “LEGO Batman 3” includes Troy Baker as Batman, Dee Bradley Baker as Brainiac, Josh Keaton as Green Lantern and Travis Willingham as Superman, among others. The game will also feature a character called “Classic Batman”, voiced by none other than Adam West, the actor who played the superhero in the 1960’s movie and TV series. West will also appear in the game as himself. The actor praises Beyond Gotham and states that he updated his character (Batman) in the game by making him more forceful and therefore more exciting. West is also involved in other voice acting roles such as the mayor of Quahog in “Family Guy”.
