The Sims 4: First free major update is now live
One whole month has passed since The Sims 4 was launched so it was high time that we saw some new content. Electronic Arts announced earlier today that the first of the three major updates is now live. The update adds new features as well as new content and it’s free for anyone with a copy of The Sims 4. However, you will have to first download the latest patch in order to have access to the update. EA didn’t reveal the full contents of the update when they made the announcement so it looks like the company has a few surprises in store for players. They did mention pools, ghosts and gnomes though. A few of the highlights included in the update can be found below.
- • October brings the spoooooky addition of Ghosts to The Sims 4. Your dead Sims can now rejoin the world of the living, where they maintain all the attributes they had a as a Sim, but with special new behaviors based on how they died. Invite them to join your Sims’ household and they can be playable characters; if you dare, you might even find a way to bring your ghosts back to life.
- • Did you feel that disturbance in The Force? It was probably our new Star Wars Costume Set. Outfit your Sims in Luke Skywalker’s X-wing pilot suit, Leia’s white robes and awesome cinnamon buns, Darth Vader’s suit and, yes, even Yoda. I mean, who out there hasn’t dressed as Yoda for Halloween, right? Now you can in The Sims 4, too!
- • Community requests like new eye colors are in there, too. I have personally just given all my Sims purple eyes. Because I can. We’ve also fixed a few minor bugs as well.
EA also announced that free major updates for The Sims 4 will arrive in October and December and that more details on them will be revealed as we approach their release dates.
