Sunset Overdrive has gone gold
Sunset Overdrive, an Xbox One exclusive developed by Insomniac Games has gone gold. The announcement was made by the developer through an unusual video.
Sunset Overdrive, which will be released on October 28, is an upcoming third person shooter game, which, based on every promotional material released, is going to be a crazy, over-the-top experience. Basically, what the video above states is that the development on the game is finished and that the final product is ready to go on sale.
Microsoft is celebrating the release of Sunset Overdrive through an Xbox One bundle which contains the Cirrus White Xbox One Console and Wireless Controller. The bundle also includes Day One Edition in-game content such as the “Nothin’ but the Hits” gun, the “Fizzie” character outfit and the “Hardcore! Hammer”, for which the name itself is enough for anyone to get the picture. The Sunset Overdrive bundle can be acquired for $399 from the Microsoft Store.
Apart from its single player campaign, Sunset Overdrive also has a multiplayer co-op mode. This mode is named Chaos Squad and it involves up to eight players fighting against AI opponents. The mission is to work together and defend vats of Overcharge Delirium XT (the energy drink that got people crazy in the first place) from waves of infected people. Although you are supposed to work together, you also have to try an earn more Style points than your co-op friends.
Sunset Overdrive is going to use Microsoft’s cloud computing to create a living world. This means that the developers can add user feedback and ideas such as new items, weapons or characters to the game faster than usual. All in all, Sunset Overdrive seems like its going to be a great experience, completely out of the ordinary and completely crazy. In other words, it’s game you shouldn’t miss if you have an Xbox One.
