Na’Vi takes the D2CL crown at Dreamhack Bucharest Masters 2014
Dreamhack Bucharest 2014 is over and the winners of the various tournaments have been decided. The event held in Romania’s capital hosted a number of eSports tournaments for League of Legends, Hearthstone, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2. While most of these competitions mainly saw local players going up against each other, the latter stood out as it featured some of the best teams and players in the world who all wanted a big chunk of the Dota 2 Champions League Season 4 prize money. As always, the biggest part of the prize pool went to the winning team, which in this case was Natus Vincere, more commonly known as Na’Vi. The Ukranian team won without even breaking a sweet as they only lost a single game throughout the entire competition, although mid laner Dendi seemed a bit surprised that Na’Vi managed to won.
According to him, the team struggled a bit lately due to the huge Dota 2 patch that came back in September. Na’Vi apparently found it hard to adapt to it at first, but luckily they seem more accustomed to all the big changes by now. After winning with a clean 2-0 in the first round against Team Empire, Na’Vi went on to face Team Tinker in the upper bracket of round two. TT lost 1-2 against Na’Vi but made up for it in their lower bracket match against Team Empire by defeating them 2-1 and securing a place in the final. So, the Dota 2 CLS4 grand final was again a match between Na’Vi and Team Tinker, with the former winning against the latter with a crushing 3-0.
By winning the Dota 2 CLS4 grand final Na’Vi earned themselves a paycheck of $38,118 while runner-ups Team Tinker grabbed $19,059 for coming in second. Meanwhile, Team Empire went home with $11,435 for finishing in third place and Sneaky Nyx Assassins had to contend with $7,624 for finishing fourth. Na’Vi went with the following lineup for the last game of the final: Vengeful Spirit, Puck, Ogre Magi, Medusa, and Treand Protector.
