Shulk Amiibo Toy Exclusive To Gamestop

Gamestop  have announced that one of the amiibo toys – in this case Shulk – will be an exclusive to Gamestop. This particular amiibo is based on the character of the same name from Xenoblade Chronicles, which will be released alongside Super Smash Bros. for the Wii-U. The announcement from Gamestop comes a week after Nintendo announced that they will be releasing even more amiibo toys; some of which will be based upon the likenesses of Pikachu, Mario, Link from the Zelda series of games, Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man.

This isn’t the only amiibo related news to be reported on recently. Nintendo recently announced that they were partnering with Loot Crate to deliver what they called an “amiibo subscription service”, which enables subscribers to receive 10 pre-selected amiibos, separated into three separate Loot Crate shipments. According to Nintendo’s announcement:

“By joining the subscription service, Loot Crate guarantees the 10 pre-selected amiibo, and allows subscribers to avoid the hassle of rushing to retailers to find their favorite characters. In addition to Mario, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, Fox and Yoshi, the other five pre-selected characters will be revealed through Loot Crate soon.”

The subscription is currently listed on Loot Crate’s website; however, it currently hasn’t been given a set price. In Nintendo’s announcement, Loot Crate CEO Chris Davis said:

“We are honored to be working with Nintendo – a company that our team loves and respects, and that many of us grew up with. The iconic Super Smash Bros. games have brought people together for years, and we’re excited to become a part of that story in a new way through our amiibo Subscription Service.”

Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice-president of Sales and Marketing explained the amiibo in a little more detail, and spoke about the toys’ compatibility with Super Smash Bros. and other games, saying:

“Featuring compatibility with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors this year, amiibo figures are shaping up to be one of the year’s must-have holiday items. Fans around the country already enjoy Loot Crate’s approach to delivering cool new items every month, and now they have a new and convenient way to get their hands on amiibo.”

The amiibos will be released on November 21, alongside Super Smash Bros., which, according to Nintendo, has already set a record for number of pre-orders.
