Advanced Warfare beats Assassin’s Creed Unity in UK charts
The United Kingdom numbers are in, and it seems like Activision’s latest entry in the Call of Duty series – Advanced Warfare – has managed to beat Ubisoft’s first current-generation-only Assassin’s Creed. According to official figures from Chart-Track (via Eurogamer), even after a 77% fall in sales, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is still holding up the number one spot. More impressive, however, is the fact that Assassin’s Creed Unity has managed to sell more than last year’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, which had a considerable higher install-base. Chart-Track mentions 52% of Unity’s sales came from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, while the other 46 from the PC version.
On the other side, Assassin’s Creed Rogue is holding up the sixth position. If we were to combine both Rogue and Assassin’s Creed Unity’s sales, they would out-sell Call of Duty’s latest entry. Meanwhile, the recently-released Halo: The Master Chief Collection has entered in the third place, this being the biggest launch for Microsoft’s Xbox One console, and the seventh biggest for said publisher. On another surprising note, the PlayStation Vita version of Minecraft is on the seventh spot, outselling both the PS3 and PS4’s débuts. It’s the third-biggest début ever on Vita, behind only the console’s launch titles Uncharted: Golden Abyss and FIFA Football.
Other honourable mentions would be FIFA 15 on the fourth place, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham on the fifth, Pro Evolution Soccer 15 on the eight, World of Warcraft’s latest expansion – Warlords of Draenor – on the ninth, while on the 10th place stands another Activision-published title, one that continues to sell like hot-cakes – Destiny.
