Next Assassin’s Creed Set in London

Many fans are still finding it hard to get through Assassin’s creed Unity, but to no one’s surprise the next assassin’s creed is on it’s way. Kotaku is behind this leak and it doesn’t seem as if Ubisoft is too happy, as they sent out an email stating:

“It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin’s Creed Unity for players.”

Naturally this was not sent to Kotaku. The next Assassin’s Creed also has some screenshots for it, showing off a Victorian like state in London. The next installment in the series will be called Assassin’s Creed Victory. The game is currently only said to be releasing on to PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Which may disappoint fans, as it looks like Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed IP has forgotten last generation’s consoles so quickly. While Assassin’s Creed Unity is still under fire, some fans may have thought the series would skip a year and make sure it’s latest installment was up to par, but it appears not. It is also the only Assassin’s Creed said to be coming out next year as well.

Kotaku has a breakdown of the video for Assassin’s Creed Victory, where they actually say some nice thing about the game. Stating that this installment isn’t just a different era/location for the series, that it actually works on gameplay improvements. It is obvious why Ubisoft is upset over this Assassin’s Creed leak, but I doubt there will be any real consequences to the actions taken by Kotaku. Many fans may be quite upset to hear of a new installment in the quite drawn out Assassin’s Creed series, but it is happening regardless. Hopefully Assassin’s Creed Victory will not suffer from the woes that Unity did. As many wait for Assassin’s Creed Unity to be fixed, I am sure many will also set their eyes to the next game in the franchise.
