PlayStation Experience Photos
Check out my PlayStation Experience photos as a great way to see what it was like to be in attendance at the first annual PlayStation Experience without actually having to wait in line for two years to get inside. There was a ton of things to see and do at the Playstation Experience. The first day opened up at 10am but my friend and I showed up around 8am in order to get in line early. However, there was already quite a large crowd present and it only got bigger and bigger as the time got closer. Two lines formed, one for those with wristbands and one for those without. Because the box office closed earlier than the advertised time we had not received ours earlier. Thankfully they brought in groups from both lines bit by bit and then we waited in the line for the keynote.
The keynote started a bit late, and also went on far longer than scheduled. There were a lot of announcements, the biggest being Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End coming to PlayStation 4 in 2015 definitively, Street Fighter V being a PS4 console exclusive, and lots of Vita games such as Grim Fandango, Banner Saga and Broken Age Complete. After the keynote Hall B with all of its demo stations was opened to public. The Order 1886 was the most infamous demo at PSX. The demo was rumored to last about 20 to 45 minutes and the line extended to the point that some waited hours all day to play a bit of the game. Bloodborne was another popular demo station but they had enough TV’s to accomadate. The demo was also fairly short and if you died too often you were kicked out.
EA was there with multiplayer of Battlefield Hardline. Activision was showing off Destiny The Dark Below expansion, out tomorrow. WB had Mortal Kombat and Dying Light playable. Bandai Namco had the Godzilla title and Dragon Ball Xenoverse. Devolver had Hotline Miami 2 and Titan Souls as well as Gungeon. Doublefine had Gang Beasts and Grim Fandango. Ubisoft only had already released titles such as Assassin’s Creed Unity and Far Cry 4. Sony Online Entertainment had Planetside 2 playable on PS4. Capcom had Ultra Street Fighter IV with a small stage for players to face off. Last of Us Remastered returned with a multiplayer demo station and Infamous First Light had a leaderboard based tournament, but I was blown away by nearly every other player. The convention was awesome, and I hope they have another in Vegas next year so I can continue talking to developers and community people. When the convention started closing down at 6pm on Sunday night, I was more sad than relieved that it was all over.
