Samsung Galaxy A7 specs leak again, features 5.5-inch display and Exynos 5433 chipset
More details about the Samsung Galaxy A7 have arrived via a recent leak that tells us pretty much everything we need to know about the upcoming device. The smartphone is the third and last – for now at least – offering from Samsung’s new “A” series along with the A3 and A5, which have already been released in China. Last month we’ve learned that the phone paid a visit to the Chinese version of the FCC where it was listed complete with display, hardware, and model number. The Samsung Galaxy A7 is codenamed SM-A700 and comes equipped with a 5.2-inch display, or at least that’s what the previous leak was saying. Now some recently uncovered information coming from SamMobile reveals that the handset will actually sport an even larger full HD 5.5-inch panel with 1080p resolution.
Hardware-wise, the device is said to feature Samsung’s in-house Exynos 5433 processor. This is the best chipset the company has to offer at the moment, which is why it can also be found on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The CPU will have four Cortex-A57 cores running at 1.8GHz along with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.3GHz. Rumor has it that a Samsung Galaxy A7 variant packing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa core 64-bit processor will also be available. Elsewhere under the hood, we should find 2 GB of RAM, a 13 MP primary camera along with a 5 MP front-facing selfie snapper, a 2,600 mAh battery pack, and 16 GB of internal storage memory. The Samsung Galaxy A7 will run straight out of the box on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, although we’re likely to see it updated to Android Lollipop at some point.
Pricing has not been revealed yet, but we can expect the device to come with a pretty high price tag judging by its relatively high-end specs and metallic design. At the very least it will be more expensive than the A3 and A5. As for the release date, the Samsung Galaxy A7 will likely be launched at the CES 2015 in January.
