HTC One M7 can benefit from Android 5.0.2 Lollipop through LiquidSmooth ROM

The HTC One M7 is one of the best smartphones of yester-year and even though Android 5.0 Lollipop is still not being released for the handset, users who are not in the mood to wait until next year might have a solution. The LiquidSmooth ROM fir the HTC One M7 is now available and is based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop AOSP. Beware that installing custom ROMs on your phone might void your warranty and you shouldn’t meddle with such matters unless you know your way around ROMs and firmware updates.

If you feel like getting the Lollipop treatment early on your HTC One M7, you can opt for the LiquidSmooth ROM instead of waiting for an official OTA to come through, but since the ROM is still in its first stages of development, you can expect at least some bugs and issues to make themselves known once you are done with the installation. The ROM will bring quite a few features over from Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, but some of them might not work just yet. The LiquidSmooth ROM is only available for the HTC One M7 at the moment, so don’t try installing it on a different smartphone just yet.

Naturally, the ROM brings Material Design as well as a handful of features specific to Google’s brand new mobile OS. Here’s a list of what LiquidSmooth ROM includes in its custom release: ambient display, network traffic statusbar toggle, quick settings toggle, immersive mode toggle, notification light length and speed, advanced power menu, volume wake, V4A Audio settings, double tap to sleep statusbar, statusbar brightness control, clock and date color, clock position, show or hide am/pm and date, ad blocker, lcd density and built in SuperSu. Before proceeding to install the ROM on your HTC One M7, be sure to back up all of your data as well as charge your phone so you don’t brick it by chance. It’s a pretty difficult task and you shouldn’t undertake flashing your device unless you have some experience, but if you are sure you’re up to the task, you can get LiquidSmooth here and be sure to follow the instructions here
