LG G3 Android 5.0 Lollipop update “coming soon” to the US says LG

It looks like Android 5.0 Lollipop is finally ready to travel across the pond and reach LG G3 owners “soon” according to the Korean tech giant. A lot of G3 users from Europe already have the update, although it’s certainly taking its sweet time to reach everybody on the old continent. Still, the situation in Europe is currently better than it the US where Android 5.0 Lollipop hasn’t even started rolling out yet for the LG G3. Luckily, things are about to change in due time as revealed by a tweet sent by LG USA Mobile recently. The “coming soon” part of the tweet is open for interpretation, but I suspect that it won’t take LG more than one week to start pushing the update over the air.

Now, it’s worth mentioning that you shouldn’t get too excited just yet as the update is expected to take several weeks before it reaches everyone. In addition, the carriers also play an important role here and some are known for pushing updates faster than others. T-Mobile already commented on the matter and it seems like they plan on pushing Android 5.0 Lollipop to their LG G3 users as soon as the LG gives them the green light. “We strive to get our software updates out as quick as we can! T-Mobile works with the device manufacturer to ensure our updates are customized for your device,” said a T-Mobile representative. The other major carriers will probably make similar statements, but we’ll just have to wait and see which one of them can deliver first.

Meanwhile, Android 5.0 Lollipop is also rolling out for the LG G3 in a number of other markets, including South Korean, India, and several European countries. While the update brings a lot of new features on the table, it also comes with quite a few bugs and issues such as battery drain and memory leaks. Interestingly, Nexus and Moto owners are those who are mostly complaining about them and for the most part, the LG G3 releases of Android 5.0 Lollipop seems to be pretty stable.
