Assassin’s Creed Rogue on PC Finally Dated

Ubisoft has announced in a press release today that the PC version of Assassin’s Creed Rogue will launch on Tuesday, March 10th this year. Pre-ordering the game now via Uplay will include a free game from a selection of titles, and different editions of the game each come with their own bonuses. While each have a lot to offer, the all cost only £44.99 (or gamers’ regional equivalent).

A PC version of Assassin’s Creed Rogue was hinted in a story trailer for the game’s console release back in October last year, which – at the time – said nothing more than “early 2015.” Although originally developed by Ubisoft Sofia, Ubisoft Kiev is the studio behind the game’s PC port. If gamers pre-order the digital version of Assassin’s Creed Rogue, they will receive one or two additional bonus packs (depending on the edition): the Siege of Fort de Sable and / or The Explorer. Furthermore, if they pre-order any edition of Assassin’s Creed Rogue via Ubisoft’s Uplay digital distribution client they will also be eligible to receive one of seven other games from the franchise:

  • Assassin’s Creed
  • Assassin’s Creed II
  • Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
  • Assassin’s Creed Revelations
  • Assassin’s Creed III – Special Edition
  • Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD
  • Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry

The editions of Assassin’s Creed Rogue eligible for this offer will be the standard version, the Collector’s Bundle and the Digital Deluxe Edition. The standard edition comes with two content packs, and pre-ordering it will grant access to the Siege of Fort de Sable and The Explorer. The The Collector’s Bundle’s contents include an artbook, three lithographs and Assassin’s Creed Rogue’s original soundtrack. The press release claims that this edition will give players access to an extra singleplayer mission and additional weapons and armour, but its product entry on Uplay doesn’t mention this. The Digital Deluxe Edition is the biggest of the lot, and offers a lot of extra content packs, bonuses and in-game goodies.

Ubisoft Kiev has also teamed up with Tobii Tech in order to integrate key-tracking technology into Assassin’s Creed Rogue’s gameplay. In order to utilize the technology, gamers will need the SteelSeries Sentry Eye Tracker. Buying the peripheral for £149.99 will include a complimentary digital copy of Assassin’s Creed Rogue if purchased via Uplay. The press release boasts that using this hardware with the game will enable gamers to “experience true gaming immersion.”

Assassin’s Creed Rogue is set in 1752, during the Seven Years War. New locations such as North America, the North Atlantic, the Appalachian River Valley and New York are visited in this game. The player dons the role of Shay Patrick Cormac, and it is through him that players “suffer the brotherhood’s betrayal and experience the Assassin’s Creed universe through the eyes of a Templar.” What’s more is that the acclaimed naval components from earlier installments to the franchise will make a return in Assassin’s Creed Rogue, along with some enhancements. The game is currently available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
