Furi hits Xbox One with timed exclusive content
Perhaps you were a fan of the PC and PS4 indie action shoot em up known as Furi, it was released on July and it was well received by critics and gamers, especially the amazing soundtrack.
But some doubted if the game was going to release on Xbox One as well or if it was a PlayStation console exclusive (after all, it did launch as a free game on PlayStation Plus). Developer “The Game Bakers” was pretty silent about the whole situation, but after months of waiting a Furi Xbox One release has been oficially announced.
Executive Producer Audrey Leprince stated that Furi “will come to Xbox One at a date to be announced, with exclusive new content, in particular a new boss encounter” and this has divided many fans of the game, because, while new content is completely welcomed and appreciated, having it be a timed exclusive to the Xbox (which was passively confirmed by the developer’s twitter account) is a mistake that many big developers do.
The PS4 exclusive content for Destiny, the Xbox One content for Tom Clancy’s the Division , it just gives consumers an unnecessary and arbitrary waiting time. Regardless of reasons and extra content, we can expect more news about Furi in the future, so stay tuned.
