Mean Streets of Gadgetzan Free Packs

Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, the latest Hearthstone expansion, has finally been released. After the Lovecraft inspired Whispers of the Old Gods, this expansion is aiming to have a much more lighthearted tone. Set in a goofy, mob run city, Mean Streets of Gadgetzan continues Hearthstone’s tradition of being a more comedy focused spinoff of Warcraft. However, as with all new expansions, its release has left players scrambling to get in on the ground floor. For those who pre-ordered and got fifty packs right away, there is no worry. Free to play players, however, may find it harder to keep up. Thankfully, Blizzard has given players who don’t want to open their wallets a bit of help. A trio of quests that can land them a handful of free packs.

Quests have been staple of Hearthstone ever since its launch. Win a number of games, or play certain kinds of cards and players earned gold. The Mean Streets of Gadgetzan quests have unique goals, but they’re very similar to standard ones. They are only available one at a time, with each unlocking after the previous one has been completed. “Join the Goons – Win 3 games as a Hunter, Paladin, or Warrior,” followed by, ”Join the Jade Lotus – Win 3 games as a Druid, Rogue, or Shaman,” and finally, “Join the Kabal – Win 3 games as a Mage, Priest, or Warlock.”

This is a bit of a step down from Whispers of the Old Gods, which offered 13 free packs at launch. Granted, part of this was due to how heavily Old Gods relied on synchronization. Mean Streets of Gadgetzan has a higher focus on flexibility. A new concept that has been introduced is cards that can be used by three of the nine classes. Six packs may be enough to give free to play players something to start with. If not, they may find themselves radically outclassed.
