Playstation Store’s Best Selling Games 2016

2016 has come and gone and what a year it was. With so many celebrity deaths and a very hostile presidential election, I for one am glad its over. Luckily it was not all bad, especially if you are a gamer. 2016 was packed full of great games all year round. Now Playstation have released a list of top selling games from the Playstation Store for the month of December and for the Whole year. So lets start with the top 10 best selling games across all platforms on the Playstation Store:

1. Rocket League (ps4)
2. Fifa 17 (ps4)
3. Battlefield 4 (ps4)
4. Battlefield 1 (ps4)
5. Destiny: Rise of Iron (ps4)
6. GTA V (ps4)
7. Uncharted 4 (ps4)
8. Need for Speed (ps4)
9. Minecraft (ps4)
10. Call of Duty: Infinite warfare

Congratulation to Psyonix on getting Rocket League as the Number 1 top selling game on the Playstation Store. However, it does not state if that includes downloads through PS Plus. Also Ea had an amazing year getting 4 games into the top ten including Battlefield 1 which is 6 places higher than its rival Call of Duty. Lets now look at the top selling games for the month of December.

The top selling ps4 games for December were:

1. Ark: Survival Evolved
2. Battlefield 1
3. GTA V
4. Fifa 17
5. Rocket League
6. Rise of the Tomb Raider
7. Uncharted 4
8. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
9. The Witcher 3
10. Final Fantasy XV

Unfortunately there are no sales figures to go along with the list so we can not tell how many of each game were sold. However there are now 53.4 million Playstation 4s out in the wild now. The fact that not one of the games in the top 10 for the year were for the ps3 is also very telling. Suggesting that most people who have a ps3 either transferred over to ps4 or are not buying as many games.

2. Batman: Arkham VR
3. Driveclub VR
4. Job Simulator
5. Until Dawn: Rush of Blood

The Top 5 Playstation Vita games for December were:

1. Persona 4 Golden
2. Minecraft
3. World of Final Fantasy
4. Dragon Quest Builders
5. Assassins Creed Chronicles: Trilogy

The Top 5 Playstation 3 games for December were:

1. Fifa 17
2. GTA V
3. Minecraft
4. Battlefield 4
5. Tekken Tag Tournament 2
