Android 4.4.3 KitKat is now available for Nexus 10

The Android 4.4.3 KitKat update has begun rolling out for a number of devices. Reports have started coming in that the long-awaited update is now available for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 . Yesterday we’ve heard that Google has started pushing 4.4.3 to the Moto X, Moto E, Moto G, Galaxy S4, and HTC One M8 GPe. Earlier today the company began rolling out the update for Nexus 4 and now Android 4.4.3 KitKat is also confirmed to be available for the Nexus 10.  The tablet will be updated automatically Over-The-Air(OTA), just like all the other devices. However, you can also install it yourself if you’re eager to get your hands on it asap. The update is most definitely confirmed so if you’re not getting it automatically for some reason just follow the instructions below to install it on your Nexus 10.

  • 1. Tap All Apps on the home screen.
  • 2. Tap Settings.
  • 3. Tap About Device.
  • 4. Tap Software Update.
  • If you’re not connected to Wi-Fi, you may receive a prompt to connect; if Wi-Fi isn’t available, tap OK.
  • If the update is not available, you will receive the message The device is up-to-date. If you receive this message, please wait for your device to receive the update via OTA.
  • 5. Follow on-screen prompts.
  • 6. Wait as device restarts and updates to the updated version.

We’ve seen a lot of users complaining that Android 4.4.3 KitKat is not available for them even though the rollout started a couple of days ago. If you’re a Nexus 10 (or any other eligible device) owner don’t worry. Google is well-known for being a bit slow when it comes to OTA updates. This process might take up to a week so we advise you to be patient. Alternatively, you can just follow the instructions provided if you feel comfortable with installing the software yourself. With Nexus 10, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and Nexus 7  (2013) out of the way, Android 4.4.3 KitKat is now available for almost all Nexus devices. A few variants of the Nexus 7 still need to be updated though. These include Nexus 7 LTE, Nexus 7 Wi-Fi, and Nexus 7 3G.

Android 4.4.3 KitKat comes with loads of bugfixes and improvements. Users experiencing battery drainage issues when using the camera will be happy to know that 4.4.3 takes care of that problem. Although previously unannounced, the update does come with some new features. These include a new Dialer app and an updated People app, among others. We will make sure to keep you up to date with any further details as soon as we hear them ourselves so stay tuned.
