First Nokia by Microsoft handset rumored to be the Lumia 830

A brand new render depicting the Nokia Lumia 830 has recently been leaked. The original article is in Italian and Google Translate is not exactly known for being accurate, but as far as we can tell the image was found on the Chinese search engine Baidu. The first thing you’ll undoubtedly notice is the “Nokia by Microsoft” branding. If this smartphone is the real deal then that would make Lumia 830 the first device to feature this type of logo. As you might have heard, Nokia’s mobile division was purchased by Microsoft earlier this year and it seems like the tech giant is planning to let everyone know.

The handset is said to be a successor to the Nokia Lumia 820 and will reportedly come with medium-range specs. All the Lumia 830 renderings look very similar to the image we’ve posted above, and show the smartphone as featuring an aluminum frame and a polycarbonate back cover. The picture reveals that the device will come equipped with a 13 MP PureView camera with Zeiss optics. Rumor has is that Nokia Lumia 830 will sport a 4.5-inch display, but there is no news regarding a possible resolution or pixel count. Actually, pretty much all other details are unknown at this time so we don’t really have much to go on unfortunately.

Aside from the Lumia 830, Nokia and Microsoft are also said to be co-developing three other Lumia devices dubbed Rock, Superman and McLaren. Details are scarce regarding them as well, but word on the street is that the latter will be a successor to the Lumia 1020. Microsoft will reportedly incorporate a modified version of the Kincect sensor into the McLaren. This mobile version of Kinect is said to go by the name of 3D Touch, although this name might be a bit counterintuitive  given that its purpose will be to eliminate the need of touching the display.

As for the Lumia 830, the smartphone might not end up being called that once it finally releases. The device received this name when the first rumors about a successor to the Lumia 820 started surfacing. While we’re very curious to find out more about it, we have to point out that the main news here seems to be the “Nokia by Microsoft” branding. Perhaps at some point in the future it will just read “Microsoft”? Needless to say, we advise you to take these rumors with a pinch of salt for the time being. We’ll keep you up to date as soon as we learn something new so stay tuned.
