Blizzard releases World of Warcraft documentary “Looking For Group”
This year’s edition of Blizzcon was arguably the best one to date thanks in no small part to all the game announcements made during the event. Sure, there were also the usual cosplay contests, eSports competitions, and even an epic Metallica concert, but this year Blizzcon was undoubtedly all about the games. This weekend Blizzard revealed a new IP called Overwatch, presented the highly anticipated Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void cinematic, announced a new expansion for Hearthstone, and new heroes and battlegrounds for Heroes of the Storm. The company also reminded everyone that this month marks the 10th anniversary of World of Warcraft and the 20th anniversary of the original Warcraft RTS.
This is a great time for World of Warcraft fans because the Warlods of Draenor expansion is scheduled to release in just a matter of days and also because Blizzard released a new documentary in which they talk about their journey with the game. The Looking For Group documentary was announced during Blizzcon and is now available to watch online for free. All our favorite Blizzard devs who made World of Warcraft a reality appear during the documentary and share their thoughts and experiences while making this game. The team also reveals some never before seen concept art from the early days of WoW when technology was more limited than it is today, but talent and creativity were certainly not.
Looking For Group is a documentary made specifically for the fans of World of Warcraft and it’s definitely worth a watch if you’re among them. Since I already watched it myself, I will also say that it’s a very well put together film and fun from start to finish, so go ahead and take a look below. As for the latest expansion pack, World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor is scheduled to release this Thursday, November 13.
