Alleged OnePlus Two hardware specs leaked

OnePlus One is ready to give way to OnePlus Two for the year to follow and it looks like the successor to the coveted OnePlus throne is already starting to spark ceaseless discussions among tech enthusiasts. While the official name remains a mystery, the new member of the OnePlus family needs to be worthy of the brand’s legacy regardless of how it will be baptized. This of course means sporting an impressive hardware and appealing looks, at a reasonable price, which was OnePlus One’s main advantage over its respective Android competitors. If the OnePlus One was thought of as “the phone of dreams,” OnePlus Two will either be the smartphone that shatters them or gives them new meaning. Although it is still too early to make any predictions, we’re now able to catch a glimpse on some of OnePlus Two’s alleged hardware specs thanks to Coolicool, a major OnePlus One re-seller.

According to the source, the highly anticipated OnePlus Two will be fueled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC, which hopefully will not be the case, as the Snapdragon 810 is certainly the proper tool of the trade for a device that aims to take it a step further and stay on top of what is now a very stacked division of Android operated smartphones. The rumor also points to a 5.5-inch display, perhaps a pixel-dense Quad HD or simply the traditional 1080p fitted on the Plus One. In terms of internal storage capacity, 32GB will allegedly be available, and most likely an additional 128GB of external storage via microSD. OnePlus Two might be powered by a 3,300mAh battery, slightly more capable than the 3,100mAh one found on the current model. The Plus Two is expected to feature a 16MP primary shooter and a 5MP front-facing selfie camera, in tone with what many high-end devices on the market have to offer right now.

Coolicool claims that the new OnePlus smartphone will be announced in Q3 2015, and so far there is no clue as to whether the device will be equipped with CyanogenMod or if the company will choose to go with an in-house Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM which is under development as we speak. What are your thoughts on this? What kind of specs would you like to see on the new OnePlus Two?
