Disgaea 5 Character Trailer Introduces Killia
Disgaea 5 is an upcoming tactical JRPG releasing in Spring of 2015. While not much is known about the upcoming title, NIS has released a new trailer giving a few details about the game’s protagonist: Killia.
In the first video in a series introducing the characters of Disgaea 5, we are introduced to the game’s main protagonist, Killia. Killia is a Dragonewt demon, who is out for revenge against Void Dark, the strongest and most evil demon emperor, all due to certain events in his past. The trailer can be seen below. Killia will be joined by a character by the name of Seraphine, a princess and the daughter of the demon king of the Gorgeous Underworld. She aims to fight Void Dark’s army, The Lost, while running away from home to avoid a political marriage arranged by her parents. There is also Usaria, demon king of the Rabbit Rabbit World. She is able to ride a giant Prinny into battle.
The central theme of Disgaea 5 is revenge. After coming into power, Void Dark devastates numerous Netherworlds with the help of his army, The Lost. Thus, the Overlords of the Netherworlds under Void Dark’s rule attempt to rise up and take revenge. The game will feature systems not seen in past Disgaea titles. The game will also take advantage of the PlayStation 4’s power, as the amount of units displayable on screen will go from 10 to 100. New systems include the revenge system, which triggers when party members fall. The game also introduces a new type of attack known as Maougis. Certain characters are able to pair up with each other and unleash special moves called fusion skills. There will also be a number of new classes in Disgaea 5, along with some older classes returning.
Disgaea 5 is set to release in Japan on March 26, 2015. The game will be available on the PlayStation 4. There is no word on when we can expect the game to come stateside.
