Final Fantasy XV Demo to be Limited

Final Fantasy XV has been in development for years. Players will be able to finally try the game out early next year. However, there will only be a limited chance to pick up the demo.

Today Square Enix revealed that the upcoming Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be receiving a Collector’s Edition (you can read about that here). During the announcement, it was mentioned that the demo of Final Fantasy XV that comes packaged with Type-0 will be limited to the “Day One” edition of the game. Square Enix had this to say: “First, as Tabata-san said in a recent episode of Square Enix Presents, this demo is exclusive to Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. We’re never going to release it as a stand-alone piece down the line…the demo will be limited to the ‘Day One’ edition of the game, meaning that only the first shipment is going to have the demo in it.”

Known as “Episode Duscae,” the Final Fantasy XV demo will be distributed via download code rather than on disc. This will be the first time that gamers will finally be able to try the game out since the game was announced eight years ago. Originally known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the game was reintroduced as Final Fantasy XV during E3 2013. It was during this announcement that it was revealed that the game will be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will feature an open-world and a battle system similar to Kingdom Hearts, along with the ability to switch weapons. Players can traverse the open-world on foot, in a vehicle, on chocobo, or in an airship. The game will feature a weather system, and a day-and-night system that affects the appearance of monsters on the world map.

Final Fantasy XV has no release date or window. The game will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
