Huawei Honor 6 Plus announced in Beijing, first dual camera phone from Huawei
The Huawei Honor 6 Plus has just been announced in Beijing and it’s the first Huawei phone to sport dual cameras. The hefty phablet is the first from Huawei to employ a dual camera similar to what we’ve seen on the HTC One M8. The Huawei Honor 6 Plus is a pretty beefy handset with worthwhile specs and a price most of you would be surprised at, considering the power this handset is packing. The dual camera is the most interesting part of the phone though, and Huawei knows it and markets it as such.
When it comes to that dual camera, the Huawei Honor 6 Plus packs two 8 MP sensors on the rear, which are named symmetrical dual camera technology and should make for great low-light photos. According to the company, the Huawei Honor 6 Plus camera setup is made up in a way that it allows more light to be collected and as such, make dark environments brighter. The most interesting part is that the company says that the Huawei Honor 6 Plus camera can focus faster than any other device on the market, saying that it has 0.1 second focus time. That would indeed make it the fastest smartphone camera you can get your hands on. With the two 8 MP sensors in use, the Huawei Honor 6 Plus can take 13 MP photos, which is pretty good, in my opinion. You can also get the depth-of-field effects we’ve seen on the HTC One M8, so it’s a great deal.
Huawei Honor 6 Plus specs include a 5.5 inch display with a 1080p resolution, an octa core Kirin 925 CPU, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage, a microSD card slot and a 3600 mAH battery. It’s a pretty hefty and bulky handset, but you can make due with it, measuring 150.46*75.68*7.5 mm, which is not that bad in my opinion. Naturally, the phone has dual SIM capabilities, so it’s definitely a phone for power users. The Huawei Honor 6 Plus price is set at $323 for the 3G version and at $403 for the 4G LTE version, which makes the phone affordable and attractive. That price is available for China at the moment, where you can pre-order the Huawei Honor 6 Plus starting tomorrow.
