Galaxy A7 and Galaxy Grand Max pop up in the wild

The Samsung Galaxy A7 is the more mysterious edition in the Galaxy Alpha-inspired smartphone line and so far we haven’t heard much about it. Now a new leak reveals a few details about the upcoming high-end edition in the Galaxy A-line, as well as a few details about the upcoming Galaxy Grand Max. Sammobile, our reliable source for the Samsung scoop published a report stating that the Galaxy A7 will be released in January, alongside the recently announced Galaxy A5 mid-ranger.

South Korea will be the beneficiary of three smartphones in January 2015 according to recent rumors, namely the Galaxy A5, Galaxy A7 and the Galaxy Grand Max. According to Sammobile, the Grand Max will feature a 5.2 inch HD display, a 1.2 GHz quad core CPU backed by 1.5 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage expandable via microSD card. The Galaxy Grand Max seems an interesting mid-ranger as its measurements include a 7.9 mm thin body, which would be pretty impressive for a phone bordering the phablet-range. Camera-wise, the handset should pack a 13 MP rear camera, but we’ve no news about the selfie cam. Android 4.4 KitKat should be the OS running the show and LTE and DMB should also be included in the package. The price for the mid-ranger hasn’t been disclosed, but if previous releases are anything to go by, we expect the Galaxy Grand Max price to land somewhere around $300.

Galaxy Grand Max leaked specs

The scoop on the Galaxy A7 on the other shows off a pretty high-end smartphone, with a 5.2 inch FHD display, a Snapdragon 615 CPU backed by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage with a microSD card slot included. The device should be similar to the Galaxy Grand Max in its camera, which should be the same 13 MP sensor, but we do think the front camera on the Galaxy A7 will end up being a 5 MP shooter. Android 4.4.4 KitKat should be running the show on this one as well. We also found out that the battery on the Galaxy A7 should measure 2500 mAH, which should make for a day and a half of mixed use in my mind. LTE VoLTE, DMB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS should also be included in the 6.3 mm thin body that should weigh 140 grams.

Leaked Galaxy A7 specs

While the specs on the Galaxy A7 and the Galaxy Grand Max aren’t anything to write home about, Samsung intends to make these devices affordable mid-rangers that would take the place of the Galaxy Alpha. The Galaxy A7 design should include a metal frame or a metal unibody, too, which would corroborate the theory that the South Korean company is focusing on premium yet affordable devices next year. We are looking forward to hearing official word from Samsung on the two leaked smartphones, hoping for a nice pricing on both.
