Moto E Android update to Lollipop coming soon
Motorola has announced that quite a few of its handsets will be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop, and we are glad to see that the Moto E is among them. The Moto E Android update bringing version number 5.0 or even 5.0.1 should be rolling out to all Motorola handsets soon enough. The second generation Moto X and Moto G have already started receiving the Lollipop OTA, and users are reporting that some first generation Moto X and Moto G units are also receiving the update around the world, even though Motorola hasn’t confirmed that release yet.
A Moto E Android update is still to be seen, but we have come across information stating that the company is working on the update and it should begin its rollout at the beginning of February. Some Moto E devices are still at Android 4.4.3, they should be getting Android 4.4.4 shortly. Once that rollout is complete, the Moto E Android update with Material Design should be hitting devices all over the world. The Lollipop rollout is said to be in stages, which means that some of you will receive the update sooner than others, but eventually, everybody will be able to enjoy the new features.
The Moto E Android update to Android 4.4.4 KitKat should be completed shortly, and as far as we know, most devices are already enjoying the release. Even though Lollipop has started its rollout to most Motorola devices, you need to keep in mind that delays may occur with carrier phones. In any case, let us know if you receive any Moto E Android update and tell us what version you are getting. Since there aren’t any reports about soak test Lollipop builds on the Moto E, we are fairly sure that the update won’t arrive until February, the earliest.
Since Google and Motorola said that they want to finish the rollout by Spring 2015, we are looking forward to a Moto E Android update with version 5.0, 5.0.1 or even 5.0.2. The Moto E Android update could also be delayed because of a memory leak issues that is fixed, but the fix needs to be implemented in the next updates. That means that we might be getting Android 5.0.2 or newer as the next Moto E Android update, even Moto X and Moto G update, so as Google can send out a version that doesn’t cause users problems.
