Hyrule Warriors Ships 1 Million Copies Worldwide
Koei Tecmo announced that their The Legend of Zelda and Dynasty Warriors mash-up game Hyrule Warriors has officially shipped 1 million copies worldwide. Its presumed that a vast majority of the game was sold in North America as the game saw a very warm welcoming selling nearly 200,000 units in its opening week. The Japanese market was lukewarm to the release initially, totaling only 100,000 units sold at the game’s launch. To celebrate the milestone, Koei Tecmo is publishing several new wallpapers and artwork for Hyrule Warriors which more information can be found on their site.
Released exclusively on the Wii U, Hyrule Warriors has received several additional DLC packs that not only offer more characters and costumes to play around with, but it also offers new story content that advances the story of Hyrule Warriors even further. The newest addition to the game will be the Majora’s Mask Pack that will be released January 29 in Europe and Japan, and on February 5 in North America. The DLC pack can be purchased separately for $7.99 or will come included with the $19.99 Season Pass. The pack will include several Majora’s Mask inspired costumes and weapons, and Tingle as a playable character to celebrate the launch of Majora’s Mask 3D.
Hyrule Warriors will also receive a free update the day the DLC launches that provides several new and improved additions to the overall game which include:
• Raised max levels.
• New weapon skills.
• New medals.
• New potions.
• Improved Smithy adding several new options: “Delete Skill,” “Check skills,” and “Sale weapons”.
• You can now restart the mission without going back to the map.
With the upcoming Majora’s Mask DLC launching on February 5th and with rumors of a New 3DS XL port of Hyrule Warriors on the way, Hyrule Warriors seems to have no intention of slowing down anytime soon.
