The Witcher 3 Runs at 1080p 30fps on PS4 and 900p 30fps on Xbox One

German PC magazine GameStar recently had a hands on preview with CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PS4, Xbox One, and PC and the gaming giant reported that the PS4 version runs at 1080p 30 frames per second while the Xbox One version runs at 900p 30 frames per second. According to GameStar, the PS4 version experienced “blurred textures that were hardly noticeable” and the Xbox One’s “textures seemed slightly more washed out than on the PS4”. Below is a translated version of their report:

“In the duel console PlayStation 4, meanwhile, has clearly ahead of the graph. Although the textures are a bit more blurred than “high” PC details that falls within the normal TV-distance but hardly noticeable. In addition, the witcher adventure runs on the PS4 in 1080p – but only at 30 frames per second, which did not bother us.”

“On the Xbox One Geralt goes also with 30 fps on monster hunt, but only in 900p, the textures also seen slightly more washed out than on the PS4. However, polishes CD Projekt own words yet on the Xbox version, maybe you can still screw up to 1080p, but you would not promise anything. Stand now is the PS4 image the sharper and stronger color.”

It must be noted that GameStar experienced The Witcher 3 on a very high end PC that was composed of an Intel Core i7-4790 processor, an ASRock Z97 Motherboard, 8.0 GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 980 graphics card with 4.0 GB of video memory and an SSD drive, which is a very impressive rig that would make any console counterpart seem problematic.

GameStar also noted that both the PS4 version and the Xbox One version experienced “popping” in details that occurred within five to seven feet in front of Geralt. This, mixed with the washed out textures, make the Xbox One version of the game inferior when compared to the PS4 according to GameStar. CD Projekt Red is currently working to gain every detail possible out of the Xbox One, to make it the best version possible; however, nothing is promised at this time.The Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt is set to launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on May 19th.
