New Concept Art for Star Wars: Battlefront 3 Released

EA and DICE have released new concept art detailing a scene from their upcoming sequel, Star Wars: Battlefront 3. The crystal clear, wallpaper-quality image can be found here. While the image depicts a forest scene, more than likely that of the planet Endor, “The scale of our maps and modes offer a great variety depending on the location,” Star Wars Battlefront Design Director Niklas Fegraeus says. “Hoth, where the Rebel Alliance fought off invading AT-ATs in snowy plains, will differ in size than the dense woodland of Endor…we have actually made the decision to specifically tailor certain maps to certain game modes,”Fegraeus continued, “and what we get from that is not only incredibly varied scales, but also gameplay that will allow players to live out some of their most memorable Star Wars battle fantasies.”

Fegraeus went on to reveal that many of the people who have seen the game say it doesn’t exhibit the same qualities as other shooters. “We’ve been showing the game to some close partners and one of the things we hear is that it doesn’t feel like other shooters and that it’s fully born from Star Wars. That really strikes a chord with me and the team as that is exactly the emotion and feeling we are going for and we can’t wait to show the world more this spring.” Speaking of more details this spring, unofficial insider Star Wars HQ believes that the game studio is planning to reveal more about the game during the Game Developers Conference, where a trailer will reportedly be shown. The site mentioned that the said trailer will be 15 minutes long, which should be plenty of time to reveal more details.

While more footage may be shown in the spring, the game was originally set for a summer launch. However, it seems that it will be released alongside the much-awaited sequel, “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.” That takes the upcoming game to a December release, with the movie premiering on Dec. 18. On the marketing side, Star Wars: Battlefront will also come as a holiday gift to gamers as it will be part of the EA Access program. This will allow Xbox players with an EA Access subscription to play the game before PlayStation and PC players can even get their hands on the title, just in time for the holiday season.

The game scheduled for release in late-2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game is the third main entry in the Star Wars: Battlefront series.
