Nintendo held their latest Nintendo Direct presentation this week, and the company made plenty of announcements to get excited about. In fact, the presentatition ended up being a lot bigger than many were anticipating, with some huge announcements being made that caught many off guard. In this article we’re going to list the 5 biggest announcements made during the presentation.

Overwatch Coming To Switch

It’s been a long time coming, but Blizzard’s hit hero shooter Overwatch is finally coming to Switch. It was announced that the game would be heading to Nintendo’s latest console on October 15th, so those waiting for a Switch port don’t have much longer to wait. The game will run at 30fps on the console, though it will support motion controls to do things like aim down sights with Widowmaker.

Little Town Hero Out Next Month

An original game from longtime Pokemon developer Gamefreak has been in the works for some time now, being simply known as Town up to this point. However, thanks to the latest Direct presentation we now know that it is called Little Town Hero. Once again the developer looks to be delivering a charming RPG experience, and one that is definitely unique compared to the Pokemon world. It’s combat system much more robust for one, as you use “ideas” to take down monsters and can even enlist the help of townsfolk. This one will be releasing on October 16th.

SNES Titles Are Now Available On Switch Online

The Nintendo Switch Online service just got a lot sweeter, as it will now also feature game’s from SNES. There are currently 20 games available to play for free by subscribers, including the likes of Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Mario Kart. Considering that the SNES is the home to countless Nintendo classics, this addition to Switch Online means that Switch owners are going to have a ton of great games to choose from.

Deadly Premonition 2 In Development, Original Out Now On Switch

One of the more oddball announcements of the presentation was that Deadly Premonition was not only still remembered, but actually getting a sequel. The cult classic horror-mystery is getting a sequel in 2020 called Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise, which is sure to bring even more of the unique experiences that the original game offered. What’s even better is that if you never played the original you now can on Switch, with the original game getting a new port called Deadly Premonition Origins that is out now.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Coming 2020

The biggest surprise of the event and one that Nintendo elected to end the presentation with was Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. Nintendo and Monolith Soft have followed up the original game with two sequels up to this point, though neither lived up to the masterpiece that was the original. This Definitive Edition looks to be a visual overhaul or the original game, offering a visuals that are more inline with 2017’s Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It even looks like it’s going to include additional content, with a new area being teased that was cut from the original game.
