Cyberpunk 2077 teasers
There’s hasn’t been much information on CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk2077 yet, apart from one epic cinematic trailer that has won the polish company multiple awards. Oh, and the fact that the name is somewhat revealing. That’s right, Cyberpunk 2077 will be a futuristic and, you guessed, cyberpunk game set in 2077. CEO of CD Projekt Red Marcin Iwinski comes to our aid, and sheds some light on what the project is all about.
In a recent exclusive IGN interview, he stated that the team is sticking to what it does best, and that’s large and mature RPG’s. “We are known for storytelling, and big game worlds, and so we’re taking all what we’ve learnt from previous three Witcher games, as well as the open-world aspect, and applying it to Cyberpunk 2077” said Iwinski. “So yes, it is an all-out RPG game, but we’re looking at having a lot of new gameplay elements that I cannot talk about yet.” he continued, confirming everyone’s belief that Cyberpunk 2077 will stay true to the company’s core.
Last year, CD Projekt Red’s managing art director Adam Badowski mentioned that Cyberpunk 2077 will include some kind of multiplayer, when he stated that “It will be a story-based RPG experience with amazing single-player playthroughs, but we’re going to add multiplayer features“.
“People have been asking me if Cyberpunk 2077 will have multiplayer or if it will be a straight-up shooter, and I tell them to relax, because it will be a true RPG game” clarified Iwinski in his recent interview. “One thing I can say for sure is that it is definitely NOT a multiplayer shooter.” he continued.
Set in Night City, a sprawling metropolis, Cyberpunk 2077 will introduce a world where technology is both a curse and a blessing upon humanity. Players will be introduced to a mature, gritty and dark non-linear story, and that’s exactly what we’d expect from the creators of the Witcher series. The game is probably going to come out in late 2015 or early 2016, as the company’s current priority is releasing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt this summer. Lastly, here’s the multiple award-winning trailer, for your enjoyment:
