Oppo Find 7 and Oppo Find 7a displays show strange colors
While not as popular as the Samsung Galaxy S5 or the HTC One M8, the Oppo Find 7 is considered to be one of the most advanced smartphones out there. Its brother, the Oppo Find 7a is a less powerful but less expensive version of the handset, however it also packs quite the punch.
Although the Oppos are excellent devices, that doesn’t mean they’re perfect and problems are bound to occur from time to time. One recent display issue in particular is causing a lot of grief to Oppo Find 7 and Oppo Find 7a owners. Reports say that both smartphones have begun to show strange colors out of the blue. It seems that Oppo is well aware of this and has made an official statement in which they address the problems.
From what we can tell, the Oppo Find 7a looks to be more affected at the moment with owners claiming that the phone’s bottom edge appears to be yellow. This problem is believed to be caused by the uneven distribution of light along the surface of the panel. The company says that it is ready to test and replace the affected devices if needed.
Oppo Find 7 customers are also experiencing some issues, although they appear to be a bit less severe. Users are saying that the phone’s QHD display is showing colors that lean too much on the yellow side. Oppo was quick to react again and have stated that this issue has already been fixed in a recent software update. These kinds of problems are nothing out of the ordinary and the fact that Oppo seems to offer a fast response will surely make customers happy.
The Oppo Find 7 was officially announced in March and is expected to start shipping from May 29. The flagship smartphone features a 5.5-inch QHD panel with 2560 x 1440 resolution and 536 pixel density. The device also comes equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz, 3GB of RAM, 3.000 mAh battery and an Adreno 330 GPU. Other specs include a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front snapper and 32 GB internal storage. This can be further extended up to 128 GB via the microSD card.
By comparison, the Oppo Find 7a also comes with a 5.5-inch display, but instead of a QHD resolution it “only” gets a 1920 x 1080 full HD one. The handset sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 @ 2.3 GHz, Andreno 330 GPU, 2 GB of RAM and 2.800 mAh battery. 7a also features 13MP and 5 MP cameras but only comes with 16GB of internal storage memory, with the possibility to extended it up to 128GB.
