2K Games might be announcing a new Bioshock soon
It seems that 2K Games are up to some shenanigans on Twitter today. The company posted a couple of tweets earlier suggesting that some kind of announcement relating to Bioshock is on the way. Both posts feature the image of Eve’s Garden, an exotic dancing venue found in the original game. Unfortunately 2K didn’t share anything else, preferring to let us speculate on the meaning of the posts. The only thing we have to go on at this time is the picture, which seems to indicate that the next Bioshock will return to Rapture. Aside from that we’re pretty much in the dark for now, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for any further hints.

The last game in the series, Bioshock Infinite was launched back in March 2013. Its Burial at Sea DLC features two episodes, the second of which was released almost a full year after the main game came out. Irrational Games’ Ken Levine said that the expansion will leave fans “walk[ing] away pretty satisfied with feeling a sense of completeness”. He also revealed that the company will not be working on another Bioshock game. The series will not die however as we are now reminded by these tweets. 2K Games stated earlier this year that “The ‘BioShock’ universe remains a rich creative canvas for many untold stories, and we look forward to exploring the next ‘BioShock’ experience.”
We don’t know what’s in store for us now, but we’re definitely eager to find out. It’s unlikely that an announcement will be made during Comic-Con so we’ll have to pay attention to the next big thing, Gamescom. The event takes place during August 13-17 in Cologne, Germany. Hopefully we’ll hear something about a new Bioshock game then, although chances are rather slim. We’ll make sure to keep you up to date so stay tuned.
