Dead Rising 3 Apocalypse Edition now available on PC

Last year, Capcom had not only revealed the latest entry in the Dead Rising franchise, but the publisher also touted it as an Xbox One exclusive. Fast forward to mid-2014, and we found out that Dead Rising 3 will also be gracing the PC as a Game of the Year-like edition called Apocalypse. Today, Dead Rising 3 Apocalypse Edition has been officially released on the PC, via Valve’s digital distribution software – Steam – in addition to Windows Store and other services. The game will set you back 49.99 / $49.99, and can also be purchased at various European retailers. Unfortunately, everyone else outside EU will only be offered the digital version.

“Dead Rising 3 takes place 10 years after the events of Dead Rising 2,” reads the official press-release. “Set in the city of Los Perdidos during a city-wide zombie outbreak, the story follows Nick Ramos, a young mechanic. He must find a way to escape from thousands of blood thirsty zombies before an impending military strike wipes out the city and its population. Relying on the help of other survivors he meets along the way and the vast array of unique and powerful combo weapons available, Nick will need to get creative to get out of the infected city before it’s too late.”

The Apocalypse Edition features the original Dead Rising 3 game, in addition to all its previously-released downloadable packages – a.k.a. the ‘Untold Stories of Los Perdidos’ missions – making it “the definitive Dead Rising experience”. PC gamers will also experience the nightmarish hoards of undead at higher resolution textures, in addition to optimized visuals on characters, backgrounds, and in-game objects. The game supports Steam achievements, cloud-saving, Steam trading cards, global leaderboards, and full game-controller support. Players can also switch between the keyboard & mouse controls and controller in real-time. Dead Rising 3 – alongside its DLC packs – has managed to sell over one million copies on Microsoft’s Xbox One console.
