Alliance is rumored to undergo a big roster change following their D2L forfeit against Team Tinker

Alliance might be looking to make some pretty big changes to their current roster of players soon. The Swedish team forfeited their Dota 2 League match against Team Tinker yesterday and said on Twitter that they’re in the middle of restructuring. “We’ll forfeit our game vs Tinker tonight, pull out from some tournaments and try to rebuild our team,” said Joakim ‘Akke’ Akterhall. “Alliance already played another game yesterday in the XMG  Captain’s Draft tournament and they did it with two stand ins in the form of Joel ‘Apemother’ Larsson and Kai ‘H4nn1’ Hanbückers. Both of them are only temporary on the roster it seems as Alliance is still waiting for midlaner Rasmus ‘Chessie’ Blomdin to recover from his injury.

It’s unclear if Chessie might end up being replaced as well, but it’s a pretty safe bet that Apemother and H4nn1 will be forced to look for a new team soon as things are not working well at all for Alliance with the current roster. The Dota 2 TI3 champions haven’t specifically said that they’re looking for new players so this is technically speaking just speculation. However, the team’s roster officially only features three players right now after the departure of Gustav ‘s4’ Magnusson and Jerry ‘EGM’ Lundkvist. As it stands, the future is looking pretty bleak for Alliance, the team who took Dota 2 by storm last year.

Although they forfeited their match against Team Tinker yesterday, Alliance still wants to compete in the Dota 2 League and have postponed their remaining matches until things get sorted out. At the moment the Swedish team is dead last in its group after a 2-1 defeat again Virtus.pro Polar and yesterday’s forfeit against Team Tinker. Their next match will be against Team Empire and they will have to win it if they want a shot at the playoffs. Alliance’s current official roster only includes: Jonathan ‘Loda’ Berg, Joachim ‘Akke’ Akterhall, and Henrik ‘AdmiralBulldog’ Ahnberg.
