Ubisoft Giving Out Free DLC

Ubisoft has not been having a good year, not at all. They have had a lot go wrong this year and with Assassin’s Creed Unity messing up at every turn, Ubisoft is seeking redemption. Ubisoft may have found redemption by giving away DLC to people who purchased Unity. Ubisoft Montreal’s CEO, Yannis Mallat, has announced today that Assassin’s Creed Unity’s season pass will change a little bit. As the pass originally granted players access to the DLC pack Dead Kings, new missions, and a new game. Well, Ubisoft has announced a change with that. As now, every player will receive a copy of Dead Kings for free. Season pass owner’s will be able to select a free game from a selection Ubisoft titles.

It’s a very daring action indeed, as the official statement comes from Ubisoft’s official Assassin’s Creed blog. In a year with so many issues, it seems as if Ubisoft is listening to their fans and are actually trying to make up for the issues. Ubisoft still has a long way to go for some fans, as the recent news about their upcoming game The Crew has disappointed and turned off many players. That is an issue of the embargo date though. Unity has taken strides since the launch as well.

Patch 3 for Assassin’s Creed Unity was announced for this week and it do it’s best to fix many issue and Ubisoft is already working on patch 4. Either way though, Ubisoft is acknowledging the issues and doing their best to not only fix the game, but fix their reputation with their consumer base. The real question that stands is if it is too late for Ubisoft. Free DLC to players is a good start by Ubisoft and if you already purchased the pass you will be happy to know that list isn’t filled with old games, but with very recent titles. The Ubisoft game list includes The Crew, Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, Rayman Legends, and Just Dance 2015. This is a list that will surely make pass holders extremely happy.
