Etrian Mystery Dungeon Comes to America in 2015

Etrian Mystery Dungeon (formerly known as Etrian Odyssey and the Mystery Dungeon), was announced just last week. While we knew the game would be arriving in Japan, we now know that the title will be coming to America.

Arriving in Spring 2015, Etrian Mystery Dungeon will be available in stores and on the Nintendo eshop for $40. The game will be available on the 3DS. Etrian Mystery Dungeon takes the RPG party and skill customization aspects from Etrian Odyssey and mixes them with the infinitely random dungeon adventures of the Mystery Dungeon series. Players form parties with familiar Etrian Odyssey classes, such as Landsknecht and Runemaster, customize them using Etrian-style skill trees, and take them into randomly generated dungeons.

Along with the release window, Atlus also gave a few details about the upcoming title. Etrian Mystery Dungeon utilizes a random map feature, which changes the floor terrain every time you step into the dungeon, offering replayability. Players are able to fully customize their parties after doing their first journey as a Landsknecht. After, gamers can make a party of 4 from 10 different classes. While each class has a unique skill set, characters are able to unlock new skills through skill trees. Players will have to make their decisions carefully. With a dungeon full of enemies, and a lot of loot at stake, gamers must make sure that they 100% certain in their parties abilities to make it out alive.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon was officially announced last week. The title was announced alongside Etrian Odyssey 5, though details on that game are scarce. The news for Etrian Mystery Dungeon comes just after the release of another mash up title that Atlus released: Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth. Though Etrian Odyssey 5 has not been announced to be leaving Japan, as most other Etrian games have come stateside, there is a good chance that this will come overseas as well.
