Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker Introduces Keita and Hinako

Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker is the enhanced version of the original Nintendo DS title. Just recently, two new clips were released for the game, showing off two of the characters: Keita and Hinako.

In two new clips, two characters from Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker were featured: Keita and Hinako  (clips can be seen below). The first is Keita, a second year high school student and resident of Osaka. He is a member of the boxing club and a player for the inter-high school team. He is not the type to cozy up to others and prefers his lone wolf-type lifestyle. Despite this, he is friendly at his core. The second character is Hinako, who is also a resident of Osaka. She was born into a family of traditional Japanese dancers, and has been studying the varieties of dance around the world. She is an older sister type character with a strong sense of justice.

A part of the Shin Megami Tensei series, Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker is a remake of the original Devil Survivor 2 game. Record Breaker will add new characters and story elements, and will feature a new scenario that will match the length of the original game. The game follows a group of Japanese high school students who gain the power to summon demons, and must fight off an invasion that could destroy the country. The game is a tactical RPG, and tasks players with controlling the group of demon tamers as they fight enemies and gain new abilities in the process.

The soundtrack to Devil Survivor 2 was composed by Kenji Ito, who is known for the SaGa series, along with the Atlus sound team. The title has spawned an anime series and manga. Along with battle, players are able to explore the country. Devil Survivor 2 features a system called the “Fate System,” which lets the player develop relationships with other characters. The stronger the releaionship, the more effective that character can be in battle.

Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker releases in Japan on January 29th. The title will release in North America sometime in 2015. The game will be released on the 3DS.
