Marvel Heroes Adds Venom and Has Holiday Sale
Marvel Heroes (now titled Marvel Heroes 2015) has a number of characters for gamers to play as. Now another character has been added to the roster. Also, the Marvel Heroes team are offering a sale on most of the in-game store.
Now players of Marvel Heroes will be able to play as Spider-Man villain Venom. Originally a photographer, Eddie Brock was overtaken by an alien symbiote, and began calling himself Venom. Once one of Spider-Man’s greatest foes, Venom eventually began calling himself a “Lethal Protector,” and now enacts his own form of twisted justice to punish those he deems more twisted than he. Venom can be purchased in the Venom Hero Pack for $17.99. The pack comes with Venom, two costumes (the Classic costume and the Anti-Venom costume), the Venom Hero S.T.A.S.H., 6 Fortune Cards, and 1 Retcon Device.
Along with the release of Venom, Marvel Heroes 2015 is celebrating the holidays with a half-off sale. Players can purchase many items in the in-game store for 50% off. This includes Heroes, Costumes, Team-ups, Pets, and Fortune Card boxes. This counts for all of these items that had been released before December of this year. This leaves 41 Heroes, 187 Costumes, 10 Pets, and 13 Team-Ups. This sale coincides with the Winter Wonderland & Seasons Greetings event going on now. Presents and buffs are available throughout the game, as well as Hero or Costume tokens, Boosts, Artifacts, Fortune Cards, and more.
A free-to-play MMORPG, Marvel Heroes first released in June of 2013. Players can take control of classic Marvel characters, including Wolverine, Deadpool, and Iron Man, as well as lesser known characters such as Rocket Raccoon, Squirrel Girl, and Nova. The game’s story sees players trying to stop Doctor Doom after he acquires the Cosmic Cube. Gameplay is similar to Diablo II, and lets players level up their characters. As characters level up, their stats increase and their abilities get stronger. Each characters has three power trees that they can spend points in. Each tree focuses on certain mechanics or play styles, such ass Captain America’s shield or Deadpool’s guns.
