Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy Released Today

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney first released in 2005, with sequels following soon after. For those that have missed the original trilogy of games, Nintendo has rereleased the first three games for the 3DS.

Out today on the 3DS eShop is the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy. The set includes the first three games in the series: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney-Justice For All, and the trilogy’s finale, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney-Trials and Tribulations. All three of the games will feature remastered graphics and audio, and will support stereoscopic 3D. The bundle will cost gamers $29.99. A launch trailer for the trilogy has been released, and can be seen below.

Originally released on the Game Boy Advance in Japan, the Ace Attorney series became widely popular after the games were released on the Nintendo DS. The Ace Attorney Trilogy sees players playing as Phoenix Wright as he solves some of his earlier cases. They are involved in intense courtroom showdowns by investigating crime scenes, collecting evidence, and questioning witnesses. Gamers use this evidence in the courtroom as they try to prove their client’s innocence. Players must find contradictions in witness’ testimonies in order to uncover the truth.

The latest game in the series, The Great Ace Attorney, will be released sometime next year. The game will also be playable at this year’s Jump Festa, giving players a chance to check out the new game’s features. The game features an ancestor of Phoenix Wright, Ryunosuke Naruhodo, as he attempts to become a full defense attorney. Ryunosuke is accompanied by great detective Sherlock Holmes, as they try to figure out a mysterious case. Those who play the game at Jump fest will also receive a special postcard as a gift.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is available now for the Nintendo 3DS. A European version of the set will be available on December 11th.
