Skyrim Mod Enderal Teases New DLC Expansion

Skyrim remains, to this day, one of the more popular RPGs. Entries in Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls series continue to thrive for years after their release due to support of the vibrant modding community. With the recent release of Skyrim Special Edition, Bethesda brought updated graphics to the best selling 2011 RPG, but many on PC have yet to jump ship. The new Skyrim graphics pale in comparison to some of the gorgeous enhancements that the modding community has brought to the original Skyrim over the past five years. In addition to the huge number of graphical enhancements, the non-special edition of Skyrim also boasts a huge number of gameplay mods. One of the most ambitious of these is Enderal.

According to the Nexus mods page for the content, Enderal “runs independently from Skyrim and provides a completely new game experience with a new land with its own lore and different biomes, deeply overhauled gameplay and a professionally voiced storyline with a dark and mature narrative. Depending on your play-style, Enderal has between 30-120 hours of playing time.” Enderal was in development for over 4 1/2 years with well over 30000 hours of work. If a standalone game based off of the Skyrim engine isn’t enough to get you excited, gamers should buckle in for an additional 10-20 hours of new content with the announcement of Enderal: Forgotten Stories.

Enderal: Forgotten Stories is being developed mainly by Nicolas Lietzau, one of the leaders of the Enderal project and the main writer of the base mod. The DLC adds content that had to be cut from the original mod’s development, and both Enderal and Forgotten Stories are available completely free to the Skyrim community. Those wishing to give their thanks to Lietzau and the Enderal team can support the work through PayPal. Check out the mod’s website and the teaser video below for more information.
