New game crash reported in 2.0.1 update for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

After the September DLC update for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, a new bug has been found in Version 2.0.1 of the base game, which can cause crashes at crucial moments.

Nintendo Wire notes that you must use Koraidon or Miraidon in the final battle against Paradise Protection Protocol. The game crashes if you highlight slot four, five, or six in the party with a Pokémon in your Pokédex.

Again, this is strange because it only appeared in Version 2.0.1. Social media user’mattyoukhana_’ posted it below:

The same source thanks all players who reported the crash and helped determine how to replicate it. I hope Game Freak can fix this bug soon.

Luckily, there are some solutions. Have “three or less” pocket monsters in your party and don’t highlight boxes four, five, and six. We’ll notify you of Scarlet and Violet updates that fix this issue.
