The Last of Us Remastered is now available via the PSN

The game everyone and their mothers have been talking about for the last couple of weeks is finally available for download on the PS4 via the PlayStation Network. I’m talking about The Last of Us Remastered of course. The game takes up more than 40GB of hard drive space so you better start downloading now and hopefully it will finish in a couple of hours, although it may take more depending on your internet connection. However, if you’re only interested in the multiplayer you’ll be able to jump in faster as it only weighs about 8GB or so. As a side note, The Last of Us Remastered is only available in North America at the moment, people in Europe and other regions will have to wait a bit longer until they can play.

But there is a bit of bad news for NA players as well I’m afraid. A lot of people are reporting that they are having problems downloading the game while others are saying that they can’t even access the PlayStation Store. This is most likely due to the fact that a large number of users are hitting the servers and trying to download The Last of Us Remastered at the same time. So you’ll either have to be patient and wait until things settle down or just go ahead and try to download it from here and hope that you wont have any issues. Once you’re there you will need to add it to your cart and follow by checking out where the “download for your PS4” option will appear. If you pre-ordered the game then it will say that it’s free, but you will still need to follow this whole process as people are saying that you wont have any issues with the download if you do it.

As of the game itself, The Last of Us Remastered comes with a long lists of improvements over the PS3 version. This includes 1080p and 60 fps in both single player and multiplayer, higher resolution particle effects, higher details on textures, longer draw distances, and more. The game includes the Abandoned Territories and Reclaimed Territories multiplayer add-ons as well as the Left Behind single player expansion.  A few new cosmetic add-ons have also been add to The Last of Us Remastered and can be purchased from the PS Store for $1 each. These include several flag hats and an army helmet. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
