Advanced Warfare’s latest trailer introduces Exo Survival mode

Publisher Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games have released a new trailer for the upcoming futuristic first-person shooter Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The first minute and a half from the ‘Power Changes Everything’ trailer is dedicated to showing us a bit more of the non-stop action found in the game’s single-player and multiplayer modes (I particularly like how players can rip out an enemy from his mech, akin to Scorpion from Mortal Kombat), while the rest showcases for the first the Exo Survival mode. Shown behind closed-doors at this year’s E3, the Exo Survival mode is basically a Horde mode, in which a team of four strives to survive against varying waves of enemies, be them drones, heavy mechs, or even cloaked human enemies.

Advanced Warfare, like the other Call of Duty titles, is presented in a first-person shooter perspective. However, the game features several changes. For example, unlike other instalments, Advanced Warfare does not use a traditional heads-up display; instead, all information is relayed to the player via holographic projections from the weapon equipped. The general gun-play remains unchanged, apart from new mechanics; for example, certain guns will be able to recharge slowly, allowing the player to take cover and stay there for a certain period of time to gain ammo for the weapon. Players can also switch different types of grenades whilst holding one with the shoulder buttons. It includes Frag, Stun, EMP, Smart, Threat, etc.

In Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, players take on the role of Jack Mitchell (Troy Baker), a former U.S. Marine who lost his left arm during the battle of Seoul, who joins Atlas Corporation, the world’s most powerful private military company with the most advanced technologies on the planet. Executing clandestine operations across the globe for the highest bidder, Jonathan Irons (Kevin Spacey), the CEO and founder of Atlas, begins his war over the ineffectiveness from the United States as the promoter of democracy all over the world to change the global balance of power.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare launches on November 4th, worldwide, on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
