Nintendo provides new Amiibo information for Super Smash Bros Wii U

Nintendo has shared some new Super Smash Bros Wii U updates on the Amiibo characters to be featured in the upcoming version of the notorious brawler. The Smash Bros official website lists a handy guide on how to put your favorite Amiibo figure to work in the next Wii U game. As fans may know by now, the Smash Bros lead man, Masahiro Sakurai previously announced in his Miiverse posts that your preferred Amiibo can be “thrown” into the game by selecting the NFC icon on the bottom left-hand corner of the Wii U GamePad. Upon doing this, your favorite Amiibo will magically transform into a Figure Player, able to “level-up” and carry his own fights within Super Smash Bros.

So, the longer you let your Amiibo fight, the faster it will increase in level to reach the maximum cap of 50, which will translate in much greater attack and defense stats. The guide reveals that Amiibo Figure Players will be able to pick up new battle tactics the more they fight against stronger opponents. Additional to this, your Amiibos will bring you rewards such as gold and custom parts which can be used to build up your Amiibo stats. Here’s a fragment of the new Amiibo guide:

“The maximum level for an FP is 50. A figure player’s levels will increase even faster if you take it to a friend’s house to play or let it fight against other FPs. Feed equipment you pick up in the game to your figure players to raise their attack, defense and speed. You can also give a figure player up to three abilities by feeding it equipment with special attributes, and you can customize your FP’s special moves as you do with other fighters in Custom mode. Figure players can fight on their own and will grow in ability. Depending on how they’re taught and raised, the capabilities and even the personalities of figure players will change, making each amiibo uniquely your own.”

Super Smash Bros Wii U is expected to land first on North American shelves, this November 21. Europe will see the game on December 5th, while Japan and Australia on December 6th. When we learn more about the Wii U title we’ll be sure to let you know. Visit the Smash Bros website to get a closer look at the Amiibo guide.
